In the early ‘70s, Bend, Oregon resident Ralph Tait came up with an idea for a compact pop-up camper utilizing a traditional a-frame design. After scratch-building the first unit by himself in his garage, Tait began receiving requests from other individuals asking for their own a-framed campers — leading to the eventual founding of what is now the Aliner brand. And while the company already offers more than half a dozen different campers across three different classes, it’s now added yet another model to its lineup with the debut of the new Evolution A-Frame Camper.

Measuring 84” wide, spanning 18’ in length, and weighing in at just under 2,300lbs, the Evolution A-Frame Camper crams a shocking number of amenities and creature comforts into a super compact floor plan. This includes commercial-grade polyvinyl flooring, 6″ high-density foam, hypoallergenic cushions and mattresses, a 35-amp converter, a pair of night shade-equipped skylights, 10″ electric brakes, vacuum-bonded fiberglass panels, a diamond plate stone guard, a porch light, a full-sized spare wheel and carrier, quad stabilizer jacks, door windows, LED running lights, interior and external electrical outlets, a European-style flush-mount sink, a three cubic-foot refrigerator, a 35-gallon freshwater tank, a city water hookup, Azdel thermoplastic composite interior wall and ceiling panels, a fan vent, and Simona Boatboard interior cabinets and integrated furniture with a welded, riveted, and aluminum-framed construction.

Despite boasting a footprint that can fit inside a standard garage or parking space, the Evolution Camper not only boasts a residential-size 32” x 32” shower, but it also features an interior that can fold out into two queen-size beds — a first for a hard-sided trailer of this size. Also outfitted with a 185-watt Sunflare solar panel setup with a Victron Charge controller, the entire off-road camper is constructed around a robotically-welded, E-coated tubular steel frame with powder-coated bumpers fore and aft. Decked out in a black and slate gray exterior package with “Splash” graphics, the camper also rides on 15” aluminum wheels shod in off-road radial tires. Best of all, every feature mentioned thus far comes as standard, with the camper’s only available add-on being an optional outside grill.

The Aliner Evolution A-Frame Camper is available for order now with pricing starting at $39,000.
